Job Title : Maintenance & IE Manager
Department : Production Dept.
Location : CVG Shanghai
Reports To : Plant GM
Direct Reports : IE Staff/Maintenance Technician/ Electrician Technician
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB
lean IE team to improve manufacturing process to improve productivity. Ensure the production line and other equipment is in good operation status; Plan, control, review facility support and spare parts management make sure to support the Department to achieve the goals.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
- Allocate resources among team to support each production lines to assure on-time qualified facility and machine maintenance as well as fix services provided.
- Generate equipment/tooling specification. Interaction with suppliers for production equipment, fixtures and gauges
- Responsibility to plan utilization of existing facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency and quality of operations
- Manage new production facility projects in line with Project Management and Sales Department targets on defined customer projects
- Observe and optimize operating cycle time, line balance. Establish work measurement programs and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
- Determine and analyze work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, work instructions, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment
- Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment
- Perform cost estimates for new programs. Reduce nonstandard operations.
-Track project timing and Lead IE team to improve performance
- Plan; implement mechanical technical services to Production Lines.
- Analyze and solve all quality problems in production process and follow up corrective actions for equipment side.
- Control manufacture process and machine downtime analysis.
- Provide necessary technical supports on production and equipment, include installation & setup;
- Make and upgrade equipment & facility autonomous maintenance planning and preventive maintenance planning;
- Coach, train subordinates to effectively serve the needs of production lines and cross function staffs.
- Plan and be in charge of fire system, power system, and water system and air-con maintenance as well as special equipment to reduce the down-time
- Self-develop capabilities to meet the Company requirements
- Follow the Company EHS policies
- Prevent waste materials, stationery, water, and electricity and protect nature
- Monitor subordinates to follow up the Company regulation to prevent any injury
- Convey new regulations and information of the superior or other departments to employees of the equipment maintenance department;
- Manage the stock of tooling, spare parts, oil, chemistry and other indirect materials.
- Other relevant tasks arranged by superiors for achieving company’s objectives.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (Skill Set)
- Industrial Engineering/mechanical engineering background is plus.
- Min 5 years working experience in maintenance in an automotive environment and Minimum 5 years industrial engineering experience in automobile industry, seating experience is plus; 3 years’ experience in leading people;
- Experience of production line/test lab set up is a big plus
- Able to work with minimum instruction
- Good Project management skills, PFMEA skill usage.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Kaizen techniques
- Good knowledge in electrical controls, mechanical repairs and chemistry storage;
- Willingness to take challenges, work under pressure, keep learning and self-improvement continuously;
- Good English in speaking and writing. Skilled in software like Auto CAD, Excel/ PowerPoint, experience with CATIA, Pro-E, UG is a plus
- With open-mind and strong affinity, can work under pressure, good communication, analyzing, judgment and interpersonal skills.
