Mission:
TAO is seeking an experienced and creative R&D Manager with strong expertise in electronic field responsible to lead an innovative product development from concept to release. You will need to conduct these projects with a strong sense of time, cost and quality. Understanding of available technologies, and building good technical relationship with suppliers is essential.
You will build and manage technical teams in Shenzhen and Manila, coordinate with Software team in Hong Kong, and cooperate with manufacturing in China and Philippines. Thinking out of the box to find smart and differentiated solutions will be expected from you and the teams you manage.
You will directly report to the Products Vice-President.
Specific Job Duties:
? Set up Research and Development teams both in Shenzhen, China and Manila, Philippines
? Develop a culture of responsibility, accountability and passion
? Train and coach the engineers, to ensure their effectiveness, supervise their jobs with a good understanding of their technical challenges both in Electronic and Mechanical areas
? Develop strong technical relationship with suppliers and use all possibilities available in China and Philippines to provide the best and most innovative solutions
? Be creative to develop differentiated products
? Work with legal team to build Intellectual property for the company on our innovations
? Manage the R&D design control milestones around design verification and validation, risk analysis and the risk management plan
? Assist operations with the consolidation of documents and specifications required for requests for quotation, prototyping/engineering builds, process validation and production ramps/post launch support
? Work with Management to ensure all projects are adequately resourced, and that resources are shared across projects in line with the group strategy and priorities
? Plan and track all projects to ensure on-time delivery, highlighting any roadblocks and working with relevant functions/management to ensure timely resolution or escalation
Competences
? Creative and dynamic, able to look for and find original and innovative ideas;
? Understanding or Expertise about Connected devices. Including Radio Frequency communication, Mobile/Cloud application deployments.
? Reactive to solve problems in short term, and organized to avoid them in long term;
? Organized and details minded
? Passionate about technical topics.
? Good communication skills with senior management, suppliers and customers;
? Anticipate and estimate the quality requirements and identify problems forward;
? Define priorities for action and allocation of budget/resources/time;
? Communicate, read and write technical documents, reports, notes — (in English)/Proficient reporting and presentation skills;
? Evaluate, develop and recognize employees of his organization;
? Ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications
? Master Degree of Engineering in Electronic with strong design skill and knowledge of Mechanical and Software;
? Minimum of 10 years of Management experience within R&D/Product Development arena;
? Strong Project Management Experience;
? Managing multi-cultural team would be recommended;
? Excellent English and Mandarin
